Where to start

I am an 18 year old girl with a lust for travel. I am currently studying a Dance Science degree at Trinity Laban, however much I love it and can't wait to pursue a career in the field, travelling the world is number one on my mind. I have always enjoyed seeing new places and experiencing new things. I am currently planning a post graduation travel gap, but I still have two years to wait. The current plan is Delhi- India, Halong bay- Vietnam, Hong Kong-China, Kumamoto- Japan, Ubud- Bali, Uckland- Newzealand, Sydney-Australia, and island hopping in the Philippines. I plan on including a mixture of excursion tours, volunteering with families, and solo travel. I am constantly looking for new ideas to add to the itinerary whilst considering the most cost affective route because i'm not made of money. From when I first looked into stringing these countries together to now (having pin pointed cheaper cities to fly to close enough to things I specifically want to see) the cost of travel has already decreased massively. I want to see the Taj Mahal but if i'm honest there's not much else I want to do in Delhi. I decided it wasn't worth the cost of an extra country when the money could be spent on extra excursions and making it the best possible trip for me. However, when I looked into flights it turned out to be cheaper to fly from London to Delhi than any of my other countries. Excluding food and accommodation it then became cheaper overall for me to visit the one extra country. Planning the route is an important step towards not only optimizing your money but also making the most of your time. I really enjoy planning my trip because for a while it's all the excitement I can get. I will keep you updated on how the planning goes and I would love some input and ideas from fellow travellers.
